Personal Injury Marketing That Tracks Every Signed Case
Personal injury marketing is the combination of SEO, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, Google Business Profile and intake work that gets an injury firm called by people who were just hurt, and then turns those calls into signed cases. In PI, clicks are expensive and cases are valuable, so the number that decides whether marketing works is cost per signed case. CFS Marketing builds personal injury marketing around that number, from the first search to the signed retainer.

CFS Marketing is a senior-led SEO, AI search and Google Ads consultancy founded by Cesar Soto in 2022, serving growth-focused businesses from Irving, Texas. This page is for personal injury firms that want search, paid ads and intake measured as one system, run by a strategist who has worked inside a PI firm.
01
What Does Personal Injury Marketing Include?
Personal injury marketing includes every channel that puts your firm in front of an injured person at the moment they look for a lawyer, plus the intake and tracking that show which channel produced the signed case. For most PI firms we work across six parts:
- Personal injury SEO. Practice-area pages by case type, location pages that earn their place, Google Business Profile, reviews and links.
- Google Ads. Search campaigns split by case type and urgency, with tight negative keyword lists. Our law firm PPC page covers account management in depth.
- Local Services Ads, where Google offers them for personal injury in your area, tested alongside Search.
- AI search visibility, so answer engines describe your firm accurately when someone asks for an injury lawyer.
- Intake support. Call tracking, missed-call review and lead stages your team logs.
- Signed-case reporting. Cost per lead, cost per signed case and, later, fees by source.
We keep ads and pages within your state bar's advertising rules, and you approve everything before it runs. We do not give legal or ethics advice.
02
Why Is Personal Injury Marketing So Expensive, and What Can a Firm Afford per Case?
Personal injury marketing is expensive because a single signed case can be worth far more than almost any other consumer lead, so many firms bid for the same small set of searches. Injury terms in large metro areas sit in some of the most competitive auctions in Google Ads. Check the top-of-page bid ranges for your own city and case types in Google's Keyword Planner rather than trusting a national average.
A high cost per click is not the problem by itself. The real question is how much your firm can pay for a signed case and still keep the margin it needs. Work it out in three lines:
| Step | Formula |
|---|---|
| 1. Maximum cost per signed case | Average attorney fee per case type × share of that fee you will spend to acquire it |
| 2. Maximum cost per qualified lead | Step 1 × your lead-to-signed-case rate |
| 3. Reality check | Compare each channel's cost per qualified lead with step 2 |
Worked example (hypothetical numbers, not a benchmark). Say your average fee on a signed auto accident case is $8,000 and you will spend 15% of it on acquisition. You can pay up to $1,200 per signed case. If one in five qualified leads signs, the ceiling is $240 per qualified lead. A channel running at $180 has room to grow. One running at $400 needs work, in the campaign or at intake.
Two PI realities shape this math:
- Case value varies by type. A trucking or wrongful death case and a minor soft-tissue case should not share a budget or a cost-per-lead target. We split campaigns and pages by case type for that reason.
- The fee arrives late. Contingency fees are paid at settlement or verdict, often many months after the click. We measure marketing at the signed case, where the data exists now, and add fee data by source as cases resolve.
03
How Does Personal Injury SEO Work for a PI Law Firm?
Personal injury SEO works by building pages that match how injured people search, by case type and by place, and by giving Google enough signals of trust to rank them in crowded local results. PI law firm SEO is mostly a local game: the map pack and the first few organic results take most of the attention for "car accident lawyer near me" style searches.
What we build and fix:
- Case-type pages: car accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, pedestrian accidents, slip and fall, dog bites, wrongful death. Each answers the questions people ask after that kind of accident, in plain language.
- Location pages only where they earn it. A page per suburb with swapped city names is thin content. We build location pages where you have an office, real case history or a court you practice in, and fold the rest into regional pages.
- Google Business Profile: correct categories, service areas, photos, posts and a steady review process. Our wider SEO services page covers the technical side.
- Reviews: a routine for asking every satisfied client, with responses that never confirm someone was a client or discuss a case.
- Links and mentions from local news, community sponsorships, legal directories and bar association listings.
- Technical health: fast mobile pages, clean redirects and a site structure where every case-type page is easy to reach.
PI SEO takes longer than ads. Expect months, not weeks, before rankings move in a competitive city, which is why most firms run SEO and Google Ads together.

Should a PI Firm Run Google Ads, Local Services Ads or Both?
Most personal injury firms with a real budget should run Google Search Ads as the core and test Local Services Ads alongside them, because the two charge for different things. Local Services Ads charge per lead, not per click, and you can dispute leads you believe are invalid. Search Ads charge per click but let you control keywords, ad copy, landing pages and negative keywords.
| Local Services Ads | Google Search Ads | |
|---|---|---|
| You pay for | A lead (call or message) | A click |
| Best for | Extra calls from your service area | Control by case type, location and schedule |
| What decides results | Your profile, reviews, responsiveness and the Google Screened check | Keywords, negatives, ads, landing pages and bidding |
| PI watch-out | Lead quality varies; log and dispute invalid leads | Junk searches ("settlement calculator", "how to file a claim myself") eat budget fast |
We log both in the same intake sheet so you can compare cost per signed case directly. For account structure, bidding and the agency audit checklist, see our law firm PPC page.
05
Why Does Intake Speed Decide Personal Injury Marketing Results?
Intake speed decides personal injury marketing results because an injured person often calls more than one firm, and the firm that answers, listens and books the consultation first is usually the one that signs the case. A paid click that reaches voicemail is money spent on a lead you will never meet.
What we look at with your intake team:
- Answer rate by hour. Call tracking shows which calls went unanswered, including nights and weekends. Accidents don't keep office hours.
- Missed-call follow-up. How fast someone calls or texts back, and whether that is written down as a rule.
- Forms and chat. Who sees a form submission, and how quickly they respond.
- Qualifying questions. A short, consistent script so the team can tell a viable case from a non-case without losing a good caller.
- Language coverage. If your ads or pages run in Spanish, intake has to answer in Spanish.
We don't run your intake. We show you, with call data, where the leads you paid for are being lost, and we change ad schedules and budgets to match the hours your team can actually cover.
06
How Do You Track a PI Lead to a Signed Case?
You track a PI lead to a signed case by giving every call and form a source, having intake mark each lead's stage, and sending signed cases back into Google Ads so bidding learns which searches become clients. Without that chain, a firm is judging marketing on calls, and many calls never become cases.
The setup we use:
- Call tracking numbers on the site, in Google Business Profile where appropriate, and in ads, so each call ties to its channel and campaign.
- Lead stages your team logs in the case management system or CRM: new lead, qualified, consultation, signed, declined.
- Conversion tracking in Google Ads and Google Analytics 4 that counts real leads, not page views or very short calls. Our GA4 conversion tracking service covers this.
- Offline conversion import of signed cases into Google Ads. Google only accepts imports within 90 days of the click, so the upload has to be routine.
- A monthly report in cost per qualified lead and cost per signed case by channel, with fee data added as cases settle.
07
How Does a PI Firm Show Up When Someone Asks AI for the Best Injury Lawyer Near Me?
A personal injury firm shows up in AI answers for "best injury lawyer near me" by being consistently and accurately described across the sources those answers draw on: its own site, its Google Business Profile, its reviews, legal directories and local press. Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT and other answer engines don't rank a firm the way the map pack does. They summarize what the web already says about it.
What we work on:
- Clear facts on your own site: practice areas, office locations, attorneys, languages, case types handled, stated in plain sentences an answer engine can quote.
- Consistent listings: the same name, address and phone across Google, Bing, directories and bar listings.
- Review volume and recency on Google and the platforms your market uses.
- Third-party mentions: local news, community involvement and directory profiles that describe your firm by case type and city.
- Measurement: a fixed set of questions checked across answer engines over time, so changes are tracked and not guessed.
No one can guarantee that an AI system will recommend your firm. Our answer engine optimization page explains the method, and the AI Visibility Audit shows what answer engines say about your firm today.

What Legal Marketing Results Has CFS Marketing Produced?
CFS Marketing's published legal results come from a bankruptcy law firm, not a personal injury firm. We don't have a published PI case study yet; here is how we'd run it and what we've done in adjacent legal work. Bankruptcy is a different practice area, but it is the same consumer-legal model: paid search, phone-driven intake and a consultation before the client signs.
CFS Marketing ran the bankruptcy firm's Google Ads from 2022 through 2025:
- Yearly cost per conversion fell every year: $61.44 (2021, previous agency), $60.06, $56.16, $52.93 and $51.12 (2025). That is 16.8% below the 2021 baseline.
- 1,511 conversions from 2022 to 2025. 2024 had 475 conversions, verified against the firm's CRM.
- Conversion rate rose from 13.43% (2021) to 22.80% (2022, the takeover year), then settled around 18%.
- Negative keyword management removed 40% of low-intent traffic.
This is one firm in one market. PI auctions are more expensive and your numbers will differ. The full engagement is on our bankruptcy attorney marketing page.
09
What Happens in the First 90 Days, and Who Is This a Fit For?
The first 90 days with CFS Marketing go to tracking, cleanup and the pages and campaigns most likely to produce signed cases soonest, in that order.
- Days 1 to 30: measure. Access review (your firm owns every account), conversion and call tracking audit, intake call review, and a match of last month's reported leads against your case management system.
- Days 31 to 60: fix. Negative keywords, campaign split by case type, Google Business Profile cleanup, and the first case-type pages or rewrites.
- Days 61 to 90: grow what works. Shift budget toward the case types and channels with the best cost per signed case, start the review routine, and set the AI search baseline.
You get a written summary at each step. A good fit: a PI firm that spends, or is ready to spend, $3,000 or more a month on Google Ads, shares intake outcomes, and wants one senior person accountable. Not a fit: firms that want to buy leads by the dozen from a shared pool, or that cannot answer the phone outside office hours and won't change that.

Who Runs Your Personal Injury Marketing?
Cesar Soto, founder of CFS Marketing, is the lead strategist on every law firm account. Your work is not handed to a junior after the first call.
- Worked in-house at a personal injury law firm in 2018 for about a year, so he has seen PI marketing from inside the firm, where intake, case types and attorney time meet.
- Independent client work since 2013; founded CFS Marketing in 2022; 14+ years in marketing.
- Google Ads Search and Google Analytics 4 certified.
- Ran the bankruptcy law firm's Google Ads described above for four years.
More on his background is on the About page, and the rest of our legal work is on the legal marketing hub.
11
What Does Personal Injury Marketing Cost with CFS Marketing?
Work runs on a monthly retainer scoped to the channels and fixes you need, with ad spend billed separately. Cesar quotes after reviewing your accounts. A firm that only needs Google Ads and tracking is scoped differently from one that also needs SEO, case-type pages and AI search work.
We don't guarantee rankings, leads or signed cases. Google runs the auction, and your intake team decides the close. We commit to tracking you can trust, reports in cost per signed case, and accounts your firm owns.

Get my custom planWhat is personal injury marketing?
Personal injury marketing is the set of channels a PI firm uses to reach injured people and sign them as clients: SEO, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, Google Business Profile, reviews and AI search visibility. It works best when every lead is tracked through intake to a signed case.
How long does personal injury SEO take to work?
Personal injury SEO usually takes months, not weeks, to move rankings in a competitive city, because many established firms compete for the same local searches. Google Ads and Local Services Ads can produce calls sooner, so most firms run paid search while SEO builds.
Is PI law firm SEO different from general law firm SEO?
Yes. PI law firm SEO leans harder on local results, case-type pages and reviews, because injured people search by accident type and by place. Case values are also higher, which makes it worth building a separate page for each major case type.
Should a personal injury firm use Local Services Ads?
A personal injury firm should test Local Services Ads where Google offers them for its area, alongside Search Ads rather than instead of them. LSA charges per lead and allows disputes of invalid leads, while Search Ads give more control over case types, keywords and landing pages.
Can you guarantee signed cases or a top ranking?
No. CFS Marketing does not guarantee rankings, leads, signed cases or AI recommendations. We commit to clean tracking, a written target cost per signed case and monthly reports in your numbers.
