Dallas PPC: Google Ads Management From a Consultant You Can Meet
CFS Marketing manages Google Ads for Dallas businesses that want pay-per-click spend reported in real leads and cost per lead, not clicks. Cesar Soto, a Google Ads Search certified consultant, runs every account himself from our Las Colinas office, a short drive west of downtown Dallas, and meets Dallas clients in person by appointment.

What Does a Dallas PPC Consultant Do Differently From a National Agency?
A Dallas PPC consultant sets up the parts of Google Ads that depend on Dallas itself: which parts of the metroplex see your ads, which Dallas searches are junk, how Local Services Ads fit, and whether a lead from across the metroplex is one your team will actually serve. The rest of good PPC is the same everywhere: tracking that matches your CRM, tight search terms, and bidding to a target cost per lead.
What CFS Marketing manages on a Dallas account:
- Conversion tracking checked against your real leads before any optimization. See GA4 and conversion tracking.
- Location targeting built for the metroplex, not a default radius.
- Search terms and negative keywords, including the Dallas-specific junk covered below.
- Search campaigns first, with Performance Max or Local Services Ads added where they fit.
- Ads and landing pages that match the search, approved by you.
- Monthly reporting in leads, cost per lead and, where you share it, closed business.
The full method is on our national Google Ads consultant page. This page covers what changes in Dallas.
02
How Competitive Are Google Ads Auctions in Dallas?
Google Ads auctions in Dallas are competitive in most lead-generation categories, because a large metro with many businesses in legal, home services, healthcare and professional services means many advertisers bidding on the same searches. Your competitors aren't only Dallas firms. National brands and companies from across the metroplex bid on "Dallas" searches too.
We don't publish average Dallas cost-per-click figures, because they vary widely by category and month and we would rather look at your account than quote a benchmark. What competition changes in practice:
- Wasted clicks cost more. In a busy auction, every irrelevant search you pay for costs more, so negative keywords and match types matter more than in a small market.
- Budget has to be concentrated. Spreading a modest budget across every service and every suburb buys a little visibility everywhere and enough nowhere. We usually start with the services and areas that bring the most valuable customers.
- The landing page carries more weight. When several ads look alike, the page that answers the search and makes the next step obvious converts more of the clicks you already paid for.
- Bidding needs clean conversion data. Smart bidding learns from what you count as a conversion. If tracking counts junk, it buys more junk at Dallas prices.
03
How Should You Target Google Ads Across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex?
You should target Google Ads to the specific cities, ZIP codes or areas your business serves well, with the location option set to "Presence," rather than drawing a wide radius around downtown Dallas and keeping Google's default.
"Presence" or "Presence or interest"?
Google Ads offers two main location options for who sees your ads, described in Google's location targeting help:
| Option | Who can see your ads | When to use it in Dallas |
|---|---|---|
| Presence or interest (Google's default) | People in or regularly in your locations, plus people elsewhere who've shown interest in them | Businesses that sell to people planning a move, a trip or an event in Dallas |
| Presence | People in or regularly in your locations | Most service businesses that can only serve people who are here |
Left on the default, a Dallas service ad can show to someone in another state who searched about Dallas. For a plumber, a law firm or a clinic that can only serve local clients, that's usually wasted spend. We check the setting on day one.
Radius versus city or ZIP targeting
A radius is a circle; the metroplex isn't. A 25-mile radius around downtown Dallas reaches well into Arlington, Plano, Garland, Irving and other cities, some of which your team may not serve or may serve at a lower margin. City targeting has its own catch: the City of Dallas spans more than one county, and its limits don't line up neatly with ZIP codes or with how people describe where they live.
How we set it up:
- Start from your service map, not from a pin. Which areas do your crews, attorneys or sales team actually cover, and which produce the best customers?
- Use ZIP codes or cities where your coverage is uneven, and exclude the areas you don't serve.
- Split campaigns or bid adjustments by area when value differs, for example core Dallas areas versus suburbs farther out.
- Read the location reports monthly to see where clicks and conversions actually come from, then adjust.
If your business serves the whole metroplex, we still separate Dallas from the rest so you can see what each area costs.

04
Should a Dallas Business Use Local Services Ads?
A Dallas business should test Local Services Ads if Google offers them in its category, because Local Services Ads charge per lead rather than per click and appear above regular search ads for many local searches. Categories include many home services and some professional services, such as legal.
How LSA fits with Search on a Dallas account:
- LSA is not a replacement for Search. You control far less: services, service areas, budget and responsiveness. Search gives you keywords, ad copy and landing pages.
- Service areas need the same care as location targeting. Choose the Dallas areas you actually serve.
- Responsiveness affects visibility. Answering calls and messages quickly matters, so intake has to be ready before launch.
- Leads can be disputed. If a lead is invalid, it can be disputed, so someone needs to review leads every week.
We log LSA leads next to Search leads so you can compare cost per lead directly and move budget to whichever produces better customers.
05
Which Negative Keywords Matter for Dallas Google Ads?
Dallas accounts need negative keywords for the searches that contain "Dallas" but have nothing to do with buying your service. The word "Dallas" carries a lot of unrelated traffic, and broad match will find it. Common themes we review:
| Theme | Example searches to block (adjust to your business) |
|---|---|
| Sports teams and events | Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, game tickets, schedules |
| Other places named Dallas | Dallas, Georgia; Dallas, Oregon; Dallas County, Iowa |
| Jobs and careers | jobs, hiring, salary, careers, internship + Dallas |
| Schools and training | Dallas College, classes, certification, how to become |
| Wrong areas | Fort Worth or other cities you don't serve, if not excluded by location |
| Airport and travel | DFW Airport, Love Field, hotels, parking, flights |
| Free and DIY | free, DIY, template, "how to" (unless your offer is a free consultation) |
Each list is built from your own search terms report, not copied from a template. "Free" is junk for one business and a strong lead ("free consultation") for another, so we decide term by term.
On a bankruptcy law firm's account we managed, negative keyword management removed 40% of low-intent traffic. That account isn't a Dallas account; the method is the same.

What Results Has CFS Marketing Produced in Google Ads?
CFS Marketing managed Google Ads for a bankruptcy law firm from 2022 through 2025, and its yearly cost per conversion fell every year. We're not presenting it as a Dallas client; it is the clearest record of how we run an account.
| Year | Managed by | Cost per conversion |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 | Previous agency | $61.44 |
| 2022 | CFS Marketing (takeover) | $60.06 |
| 2023 | CFS Marketing | $56.16 |
| 2024 | CFS Marketing | $52.93 |
| 2025 | CFS Marketing | $51.12 |
- Cost per conversion closed 2025 at 16.8% below the 2021 baseline, after falling every year.
- 1,511 conversions from 2022 to 2025. 2024 had 475 conversions, verified against the firm's CRM.
- Conversion rate rose from 13.43% in 2021 to 22.80% in the takeover year, then settled around 18%.
- Negative keyword management removed 40% of low-intent traffic.
These are one firm's results in its market. Your numbers will differ, and we don't promise the same outcome. Law firms in Dallas can see our law firm PPC page, and all anonymized results are on case studies.

Can You Meet Your Google Ads Consultant in Person in Dallas?
Yes. Dallas clients can meet Cesar Soto at the Las Colinas office, a short drive west of downtown Dallas via TX-183 or I-35E and SH-114, or Cesar can come to your office. Meetings are by appointment.
In-person time is most useful for three things:
- The first account review. Bring Google Ads access and a count of the leads you actually received. We go through search terms, location settings and conversion actions together.
- Lead quality sessions with your intake or sales team. Matching what Google reported against the leads your team handled is faster in the same room.
- Quarterly reviews with owners or leadership, where budget and targeting decisions get made.
Month-to-month work runs by video and shared reports.

What Happens in the First 30 Days on a Dallas Google Ads Account?
The first 30 days go to tracking and cleanup, not to scaling spend.
- Weeks 1 and 2: confirm your business owns the Google Ads, GA4 and Tag Manager accounts; list every conversion action; test forms and calls; match a month of reported conversions against your CRM.
- Weeks 3 and 4: fix location targeting and the "Presence" setting; build Dallas negative keyword lists from the search terms report; pause spend that doesn't produce real leads; agree a written target cost per lead.
You get a written summary at the end of the month: what we found, what we fixed, and what we'll test next.
09
Who Runs Your Dallas Google Ads Account?
Cesar Soto, founder of CFS Marketing, runs every Google Ads account. He has done independent client work since 2013, is certified in Google Ads Search and Google Analytics 4, and works across Search, Performance Max and Local Services Ads. Your account isn't handed to a junior after the first meeting. If you also need someone to own the wider marketing plan, see our Dallas fractional CMO service.

What Does Dallas Google Ads Management Cost?
Work runs on a monthly retainer scoped to the channels and fixes you need, with ad spend billed separately. Cesar quotes after reviewing your accounts. We fit Dallas businesses spending $3,000 or more a month on Google Ads, or ready to.

Get my custom planIs CFS Marketing a Dallas PPC agency?
CFS Marketing is a senior-led Google Ads consultancy based in Las Colinas, Irving, just west of Dallas, and it manages PPC for Dallas businesses. We don't have a Dallas office; clients meet us in Irving or at their own office by appointment.
What location setting should a Dallas business use in Google Ads?
Most Dallas service businesses should use "Presence," which shows ads to people in or regularly in the areas you target. Google's default, "Presence or interest," can also show ads to people elsewhere who are only interested in Dallas.
Should I target a radius around Dallas or specific ZIP codes?
Target the cities or ZIP codes you actually serve. A radius around downtown Dallas spills into other metroplex cities you may not cover, while city or ZIP targeting lets you include and exclude areas based on where your best customers are.
Are Local Services Ads worth it in Dallas?
They are worth testing if Google offers them in your category, because you pay per lead rather than per click. We run them alongside Search and compare cost per lead so budget follows the better source.
Have you managed Google Ads for Dallas clients?
We don't publish Dallas client results. Our published Google Ads results come from a bankruptcy law firm's account, which we don't present as a Dallas client, and each figure says where it came from.
Can you guarantee leads or top ad position in Dallas?
No. Google runs the auction and your competitors set part of the price, so nobody can honestly guarantee leads, cost per lead or position. We commit to clean tracking, a written target cost per lead and monthly reports in your numbers.
